PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU OWN A GL1500 WITH CLEAR HEADLIGT!
On the GL1500 with the newest head lights (with the clear glass), Shims will be required for proper installation of any standard H4 bulb.
Therefore, you have to choose the GL1500 1998-2000 model, where Shims are included in the order.

Then you received the bulbs, You must trim off the bottom 2 tabs so that the bulb will go into the housing.
Here is where the problem lies; doing so actually causes the bulb to point up, not straight as needed for proper light disbursement – these shims correct this problem.
The shims are laser cut stainless steel so you will never need another pair.

LED auto bulbs and E-approvals
Since it is not certain that you may use these LED bulbs on your motorcycle, you should read this first:

UNECE and e-authentication
It is UNECE (UN Economic Commission for Europe) that makes the regulations according to which products are E-approved. The regulation, which includes halogen lights and halogen bulbs, does not mention LED bulbs at all. The only thing the regulation allows are LED modules that are installed in LED lights designed for this purpose.

There is therefore no UNECE regulation according to which this type of LED bulbs can be E-approved. For the same reason, it is also not easy to find LED car bulbs from Osram, Philips, etc., as they are not particularly interesting for them to develop and produce. Maybe they will be allowed in a few years if the EU updates the regulation.

Incorrect e-authorizations:

"E-approved" LED bulbs can be bought in several places - unfortunately they do not fit, and an approval for your vehicle may therefore be rejected. You must also be aware that CE and E-approval are two very different things. A CE approval is not the same as an E-approval,
